Perhaps it’s time to acknowledge that Black students comprising the disabled ranks in segregated, underfunded inner city schools, possess levels of, as yet undiagnosed genius and have been failed by a system intent on their mis-education.
Each of us have an obligation to ensure that literacy is not only our unique inheritance, but also our ‘gift’ to those we love and others less fortunate.
Never doubt that you can change the world my love. For Black women have always, will continue and shall forever change the narrative by virtue of simply being ourselves.
